If paranormal activity exists anywhere, it would be on a decommissioned warship right next to the site of a gruesome battle. History buffs and believers of otherworldly entities alike won't want to miss this overnight ghost hunt on the Battleship Texas.
Commissioned in 1912, this iconic landmark is the last remaining battleship to have served in both World Wars. It became a floating memorial and museum in 1948, after the surrender of Japan.
Plans are in place to permanently move the ship, so this could be your very last chance to board it. What better way to spend a farewell visit than by hunting for ghosts?
This place is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Visitors have reported such experiences as disembodied voices, mysterious vapors, and even apparitions.
One of the most frequently spotted resident specters is a redheaded sailor. He wears a white uniform and stands on the deck with a toothy grin on his face.
First, guests will be taken on a full tour of the ship - including areas typically off-limits to the public. A knowledgeable guide will offer captivating information, both ghostly and historical, roping you in further with every successive word.
Everyone will meet up at 9 p.m. to view a documentary about USS Texas. As the film concludes, you'll feel a personal connection to not only the vessel itself but each brave hero who sailed in it.
Participants will even be able to sleep in the original sailors' barracks, the place where many a restless night kept them tossing and turning in anxious agony. Does that heavy energy still linger in the air like a black cloud? You'll just have to find out for yourself.
Complimentary beverages, snacks, and Sunday morning breakfast are included. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Tickets are $179 each and can only be purchased online. Availability is extremely limited, so don't hesitate to book a spot.
Address: 3523 Independence Parkway, La Porte, TX 77571. The event will take place from 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 until 10 a.m. the following morning.
