Finding the perfect Christmas gift is one of the most difficult aspects of the holiday season. Whether you're searching for your best friend or your wife, your husband or your mother-in-law, finding something perfect for your loved ones tends to be difficult and longwinded. Stay away from the dreaded Christmas Eve Target dash with a visit to the Christmas Village, a month-long holiday market in Nashville, Tennessee. It's where you'll find gifts for the whole family, where they're locally made and crafted. Does it get any better than that?
The Christmas VIllage is held at the Nashville Fairgrounds, which tends to be a blank slate throughout the year for fun events and experiences.
The Christmas Village was established in 1961 by the Nashville Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club. It was originally created by women in the Middle Tennessee geographical area for philanthropic reasons. Nowadays, it's a local gem.
With over 200 volunteers and an entire weekend dedicated to the event, you can be sure that the experience is well-planned and fun. Tickets are $8 a person in advance, or you can purchase them for $10 at the door. Keep in mind that kids under the age of 9 can come for free!
Every year, it's estimated that over 30,000 shoppers make their way to the Christmas Village. With over 260 merchants that represent 29 states, it's an experience that you won't want to miss.
You can be sure that all of the merchants and vendors provide creative, quality products that will make your family smile come Christmas morning.
This is where you come for one-of-a-kind gifts that you can't get anywhere else. Plus, your purchases go towards a good cause. The Christmas Village is one of the oldest charitable events in Nashville, and has raised over 12 million dollars since its inception in 1961.
Will you be coming this year? You can visit the Nashville Christmas Village the weekend of Friday, November 15th to Sunday, November 17th at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
