The only thing as perfect as a day trip to a water park in the summer is a day trip to an amusement park in the summer. From the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World" to fun filled, smaller scale theme parks, Ohio truly has it all when it comes to amusement parks. The following are seven amusement parks throughout the state that you should make a point to check out this summer.
1) Cedar Point (Sandusky)
Also known as "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World," this truly amazing 365-acre amusement park is home to world famous coasters such as the "Top Thrill Dragster" and "Millennium Force."
2) Kings Island (Mason)
This 364-acre amusement park features family favorite water rides, thrill rides and roller coasters. With classic, well known rides such as "The Beast" and "The Adventure Express," there's truly something for everyone in the family.
3) Memphis KIddie Park (Brooklyn)
Designed specifically for children and families, this small amusement park near Cleveland features 11 rides.
4) Tuscora Park (New Philadelphia)
This small family fun park in New Philadelphia features vintage amusement park rides as well as three pools.
5) Sticker's Grove (Hamilton)
Two wooden roller coasters, midway rides and picnic areas are offered at this family-owned amusement park, which is available to rent for groups and other events.
6) Jungle Jack's Landing (Powell)
As part of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, this safari themed amusement park is a favorite family fun destination.
7) Coney Island (Cincinnati) - CLOSED
Editor's note: Unfortunately, Coney Island and Sunlite Pool have permanently closed.On the banks of the Ohio River near downtown Cincinnati, you'll find this small amusement and water park. Ohio's Coney Island features 17 classic family and kiddie rides.
