Home to the largest collection of street murals in the world, visiting this mall makes for a vibrant shopping experience. Whether you're looking to do some shopping or simply want to see the colorful murals, Prizm Outlets makes for a fantastic way to spend a few hours with family and friends.
Formerly known as Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas, Prizm Outlets is a shopping mall with style in Primm, Nevada. Sure, the shops here are vast and varied, but it's the gigantic street mural collection that makes it a must-see.
Created as a family-friendly destination for vacationers traveling to and from Las Vegas, Primm Outlets hasn't always been this...colorful. The outlet actually had to shut down due to financial woes from the 2008 crisis, and things only began to look up until a new owner took over and decided to try something new.
In order to lure in not only shoppers but families with kids, the new owner opted to cover the mall's walls and ceilings completely in original artwork. Early last year, work began to transform this outlet mall and give it new life, and that's exactly what they did.
In all, the mall's colorful collection of murals is the work of 33 muralists from 17 different countries. Boasting 126 vibrant murals, they say it's the largest street mural collection in the world. It's for sure an impressive sight!
The recent makeover is a move to show visitors that Prizm Outlets is much more than your average shopping mall. It's an entertainment destination. Currently, the mall is home to over 70 stores and restaurants worthy of exploring during a stopover in Primm.
If anything, it's worth visiting the shopping mall for the murals alone. Although they are labeled as street murals, each piece is a real work of art and they are truly outstanding. With pieces ranging in sizes from huge to humongous, seeing them all feels a lot like walking through a gigantic art gallery.
Prizm Outlets is bringing a LOT of color to this remote corner of the desert, so make sure to stop by the next time you're passing through this town on the Nevada-California border. You can't miss it!
