Let's face it, reading about history can be a boring task. However, exploring it firsthand is an entirely different story. That's exactly what you'll do when you visit this spooky ghost town. Okay, so this place isn't a total ghost town— technically speaking—since a few individuals do still reside here. However, walking through this place is like taking part in a living history lesson. The remnants of this historic town are fascinating, but there's something oddly unsettling about them too. Visiting this spot is a must for anybody who loves exploring Nevada's (nearly) abandoned spots, so take a look.

Gold Point is the epitome of the perfect ghost town. It's home to century-old buildings, lots of history, and even the occasional ghost story. It's a must-visit for any adventurer and you'll want to see it for yourself.

However, Gold Point isn't entirely abandoned. It's estimated that as little as seven people call this town home. In fact, you can see for yourself what it's like to stay in a ghost town like this since a few of the town's historic cabins are available to rent for the night.

Walking along Gold Point's dirt roads, you can't help but feel like you've fallen into an entirely different era. There seems to be almost no hint of modern life, and it's easy to picture what this bustling mining town looked like during its heyday.

The town started off as a silver mining camp in the early 1860s. Surprisingly, the camp was quite a happening place. It was home to more than 100 dwellings several businesses, a hotel, and a post office.

However, the town suffered the same fate as many of Nevada's early mining towns. The mining operations slowed down in the early 20th century, and it completely ceased once World War II began. With mining at a halt, residents began moving on from Gold Point and it became the dilapidated community you see today.

The old mining camp really feels like living, breathing history. Many of its old buildings are (miraculously) still standing. The post office is now a museum, Old West reenactments are regularly performed, and guest services are available year round.

What's left of Gold Point has become a hot spot for both history buffs and paranormal enthusiasts. The few residents that live here regularly work to preserve the town's remnants so that we can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

It's not often you see old towns like this one so wonderfully preserved. Seeing it is a must for anybody who's curious about Nevada's early days, so be sure to give this place a visit real soon.
