No matter where you live across the country, you'll always find that every state has their own unsafe locations and natural wonders that can be fatal. You may be under the impression that the worst harm Nevada could do to you, is to take all your money and dignity on the Las Vegas Strip. But, there are actually more dangerous spots in Nevada where you could actually land yourself into a considerable amount of trouble:

Ghost towns with abandoned mines have become a favorite place for people to visit while taking a trip through Nevada. Jumping backwards into time and seeing how people once lived right here within our state, well there's nothing quite like it.
In an age where we frequently see old structures demolished and replaced by something more modern, we have the desire to cling to whatever pieces of history that are still left standing today. While we love diving into the past, exploring abandoned mines has a long history of being quite deadly, and they are some of the most dangerous places to avoid in Nevada.
There's a reason there are warning signs posted all around our abandoned mines... and you should listen to them.
Aside from the obvious fact that the conditions of these mines are always changing, you also can never know how sound the supporting structures inside these places really are.
All across the West Coast you can hear saddening stories of deaths that have taken place inside of abandoned mines. From visitors falling down open shafts to people suffocating from poisonous gases, there's more than enough reasons to justify why you shouldn't explore these pieces of Nevada's history.
"Stay Out - Stay Alive"
The famous motto for these dangerous places to avoid in Nevada is "Stay Out - Stay Alive," and it's there for a reason. Please do yourself the favor of not letting this be the last adventure you ever take. Stay out.
Another reason to not enter these mines? You truly never know what you'll find inside of them. Wildlife such as rattlesnakes and even bears have been known to call these abandoned structures home. And even worse? If you do run into some terrifying form of mother nature, there's a good chance you won't be able to find your way out to safety. With the huge lack of light down in these mines, it's more than easy to get yourself lost.
