Spring and summer are fantastic in Montana for many reasons. But aside from the flowers in bloom and the snow finally melting (usually), we get to celebrate another season of the Charlie Russell Chew Choo in Lewistown. If you've never experienced this adventurous dinner train, get your tickets as soon as possible.
The Charlie Russell Chew Choo Dinner Train has been a Central Montana tradition for years.
Every winter, they host a North Pole Adventure, but when the weather warms up, it's all about the scenic dinner experience.
This three hour narrated scenic train ride takes you through some seriously stunning country.
You'll board at the Hanover Boarding Station near Lewistown beginning one hour before your departure. The train travels on a spur track that was built in 1912 and 1913, connecting Lewistown and Great Falls.
Each experience comes with a full course prime rib dinner, and they won't skimp on portions.
The delicious food is worth taking the train alone -- the scenery is just an added bonus.
Most of the wine served onboard comes from Mission Mountain Winery, which is right here in Montana.
Not only is this a great wine list, it's also very affordable.
But your evening doesn't end with prime rib and Cabernet.
There's plenty of entertainment onboard, including a simulated hold up from some old-fashioned outlaws.
The masked bandits are all part of the fun.
You'll also see plenty of mountains, prairies, a sunset, and possibly wildlife on your adventure.
Tickets for this one-of-a-kind experience are $100 (for adults -- kids are $50), or $135 for the VIP experience.
VIP tickets include priority boarding, preferred seating, a t-shirt, and a complimentary drink.
The Charlie Russell Chew Choo adventure is only available for a limited time, so get your tickets here. And if the experience inspires you to check out our local wineries, here's a great list.
