Summer is flying by and it's time to check the list of festivals in Minnesota that you cannot miss! Here are some of the most unique festivals Minnesota has to offer. Don't worry if you missed one, you can plan for next year now! Everybody knows that the Minnesota State Fair is the BEST IN THE COUNTRY! But what else is there in Minnesota?
1. Head to the Sommerfest concert series with dining, drinks and some FREE music with the Minnesota Orchestra through the entire month of July.
2. Bayfront Blues Festival - August 7-9 hit one of the largest outdoor concerts in the midwest.
3. Uptown Art Fair - Don't miss the awesome art, food and music for the whole family this year! August 7-9.
4. Barnsville Potato Days - A spud-tastic two days in late August will introduce you to all the events you never knew you needed like mashed potato sculpting.
5. Big Island Rendezvous and Festival - Go to Albert Lea to experience the fur trade period in October.
6. A Taste of Minnesota - You still have a few days to get to this fun-filled festival in Waconia!
7. Renaissance Festival - The huge festival and amazing entertainment make this a can't miss from August 22 to October 4!
8. Scottish Fair & Highland Games - Get a cultural overload from this Scottish fair in Eagan on July 18th.
9. Stone Arch Bridge Festival of Art & Music - In June next year make sure you don't miss this Minneapolis celebration of amazing art and music on the riverfront!
10. Irish Fair - The largest free Irish Fair in the country! Always memorable, catch it in August in Saint Paul.
11. Grumpy Old Men Festival - In honor of the movie head to the Grumpy Old Men Festival in Wabasha next February.
12. Scandinavian Hjemkomst Festival & Midwest Viking Festival - Clearly unique and very fun. Head to this festival next year for a taste of Nordic culture.
13. Winter Carnival - The classic and most fun winter event of the year in Saint Paul!
14. Festival of Nations - The longest running multicultural festival in the midwest! Catch it next April!
15. Mayday Parade & Festival - Puppets and masks galore, and a phenomenal parade!
16. Svenskarnas Dag & Swedish Institute Midsommar - Put these two Minneapolis festivals together and you'll have a weekend for the record books mid June.
17. Northern Spark - This truly unique festival lets you stay out all night in June and enjoy the art of Minneapolis.
