If you consider yourself a history buff and a lover of all things autumn, there’s one wonderfully spooky event in Michigan that belongs atop your fall bucket list. When you’re in the mood to take a virtual journey through the past while treating yourself to a few family-friendly frights, head to Mackinaw City and embark on this one-of-a-kind adventure.
The 2019 Fort Fright event will take place October 4th and 5th at Colonial Michilimackinac, which can be found at 102 W Straits Avenue in Mackinaw City.
This exciting event brings one of Michigan’s most wonderful historic attractions to life each autumn with a healthy dose of tricks, treats, and family fun.
Admission is just $10 per adult and $6 per child. When you arrive for this exciting excursion, you’ll immediately find yourself in a Halloween wonderland.
During your adventure, you’ll find your way through this genuine 18th century fort by lantern light. Along the way, storytellers will regale you with tales of Michilimackinac.
There’s so much more than military history here. During your journey, you’ll encounter everything from witches to goblins and ghouls who deliver October delight.
Enjoy a cup of hot cider, stop to warm up around a bonfire, or enjoy a few sweet treats as you stroll along. It’s hard not to be in the Halloween spirit when you’re here.
This year, visitors can attend a "Frolic at the Commanding Officer’s House," which features refreshments, new stories, and access to a dose of "finer society."
Most areas are appropriate for all ages, but younger guests might choose to forgo a "demon walk" and haunted house. No matter your age, you’ll find something to adore.
Address: 102 West Straits Avenue, Mackinaw City, MI 49770
