In the past few months, we've published a lot of stuff about creepy, scary, and thrilling things to do in Iowa. Well, Halloween is right around the corner and it's time to put all of those amazing Iowa locations in one place.
Most of these places aren't well publicized. If they are located in a different part of Iowa, you may never have heard of them. Check out this list and see if there's anything you want to see or do before our spookiest season transitions to our eating-all-the-food season.

4. It's said that Farrar School is haunted.
This former school is currently considered by paranormal investigators to be one of the most actively haunted locations in the state. Learn more about it, here.

The town of Van Meter has embraced their history concerning the disturbing series of events that occurred in 1903. They never solved the mystery and maybe that’s why it’s such a fun town to visit..

7. Spook Cave is only slightly haunted.
This 40-minute guided boat tour through a flooded cave is only slightly haunted. A bigger problem may be descending below the earth’s surface into a mile-long rock hole that’s so small in places that you’ll have to duck to get through. You should try it right after you learn more here.
8. Does ghost hunting make you hungry?
You’ll never forget a trip to this haunted restaurant in Cascade. The store owners even caught paranormal activity on their security cameras. You’ll have to eat somewhere else, though. This Maid-Rite is now, mysteriously, closed.
9. Would you spend the night at the spooky Malvern Manor?
It’s spooky, creepy, and terrifying. You can spend the night. Malvern Manor was a hotel for traveling salesmen, but the arrival of the automobile killed railroad travel, and the place went broke. It was then a home for people who struggled with mental health issues. Many overnight guests have recently interacted with ghosts of former residents. Learn more about this fascinating place, here.
