When fall swings around, everyone's minds jump from topic to topic. Changing leaves, fun foods galore (pumpkin pie or apple cider, anyone?), an array of festivals, cider mill tours, hay rides... there's so much to see and do it can almost be overwhelming! If you're a fan of the spooky and scary, you're likely also interested in some of the great haunted houses in Connecticut. One of our favorites is Nightmare on Wolcott Street in Waterbury. This creepy place is returning again for the 2022 season, with an opening day set for the last weekend in September. It will run weekends through the month of October, giving you plenty of opportunities to be spooked to your core!
The Nightmare on Wolcott Street experience is one of the best haunted houses in Connecticut. It's a little too creepy for most young kids, but perfect for teenagers and adults.
Tickets are just $15 a person and with 55 rooms to explore, you get a lot of scare for your buck.
The entire experience lasts about 15-30 minutes. You'll see a variety of spooky props and costumed actors.
You'll find just about every subgenre of horror here, with appearances from clowns, creepy ax murderers, vampires, and more. There really is something to scare everyone!
Since this is an indoor attraction, the show will go on regardless of the weather.
This haunted house gets better every year, so expect the 2022 rendition to be better than ever!
The opening date is the last weekend in September and the haunted house will run each weekend through Halloween.
In previous years, Nightmare on Wolcott Street has only accepted cash, so make sure to stop by an ATM before heading to Waterbury.
