With so many Northern California adventures to chose from, it's easy to get overwhelmed with the options! For something completely different and out of the ordinary, visit the Sierra Hot Spring in Sierraville. It's a lovely facility that channels the naturally warm water of a nearby spring into pools and tubs.
The site of the Sierra Hot Springs has had some form of resort here for the last 150 years.
Two of the hot springs have been recently redeveloped and make for a cozy, relaxing time away from home.
You can chose to relax in the cooler, but still warm, larger pool or hop in one of the hotter tubs.
There are also cold tubs to jump into if you really want to shock your system!
All in all, it's a really nice facility. You can even stay overnight here in one of their two lodges or their onsite campground.
Some of the rooms even offer private pools, but these are seasonal. If you are interested in renting out one of these, it's best to call in advance (number below).

Here's the view from the main lodge.
Both structures offer rooms for 1 person at $71.50 a night, 2 people at $99.00 a night, or dormitory style accommodations for $49.50. You can also camp for $27.50 a person on weeknights and $33 on weekends.
In addition to the hot springs, you will also fall in love with the surrounding natural landscape of Sierra County.
The front porch of the main building overlooks the scenic Sierra Valley.
The views from the pools themselves aren't half bad, either! Sunset is a lovely time to go for a soak.
The Sierra Hot Springs are a non-profit retreat and workshop center.
The facility staff lead holistic events like yoga, drum circles, and open mic nights.
Another important thing to note is that many guests often soak in the pools in nothing but their birthday suits.
You can, of course, wear yours into the water. There are a few pools that are adults only, but children are allowed in others during certain times of the day.
All in all, however, this place makes for one unique experience in Northern California that you won't soon forget.
The property includes 700 acres bordering National Forest land, so biking and hiking possibilities abound. During winter, nearby cross-country skiing is another attraction, and the location is less than one hour from major Tahoe ski resorts.
The Sierra Hot Springs are located at
Sierraville, CA 96126
