Route 66, also known as "The Main Street of America," darts through a small unincorporated community in Arizona's Mohave County. Maybe you've heard of it, it's called Hackberry. Once upon a time, silver mines created quite a boom in the small community, and then, just as fast as they sprang up, the demand dried up due to fluctuating prices of silver. Most of the town disappeared, but not Hackberry General Store.

The iconic stop along Route 66 has passed through two owners since it was first opened in the 1920s.

From the looks of it, most of the ownership changes included all of the collectable memorabilia. As you pull into Hackberry General Store, you just know you've stuck gold.

But wait, there is as much (or more!) to gawk at on the inside of the store as there is on the outside!

You'll find nearly a century's worth of Route 66 collectables and memorabilia inside the kitschy store. From old cylinder gas pumps, to signs — and more, you'll be awestruck by what's inside this old stop.

All of the memorabilia found outside is just as fascinating.

Route 66, in general, can have some fun places to stop, but few rival the nostalgia that Hackberry General Store can conjure up in just one short (or long!) stop.

A quick survey of the perimeter dishes up a bevy of cars, complete with a patina some people pay thousands to replicate. But it's as real on these old relics as it is on the old signs adorning the building

Hackberry General Store may be located a bit of a distance from where you are, but the drive to this historic general store in Arizona is definitely worthy of a day trip.
