6. DeSoto Falls
DeSoto Falls is located near the town of Mentone and is one of Alabama's most recognizable waterfalls. It's also one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the South.

It's also one of the most scenic rivers in the U.S. What truly makes the Cahaba River stand out among the rest is the countless number of Cahaba lilies that bloom within the Cahaba River National Wildlife Refuge portion of the river. 8. Ave Maria Grotto
Ave Maria Grotto is a four-acre park that's been carved from an old quarry. It features more than 120 miniature reproductions of world-famous religious structures, and it's a one-of-a-kind attraction that welcomes visitors from all over the world.
