Alabama is filled with many haunted places. From restaurants and mansions, to cemeteries and bridges, there's certainly no shortage of paranormal activity here in the Yellowhammer State. With that being said, there are also plenty of ghost stories that still baffle people today, including the one about Bayview Bridge. For information about Bayview Bridge, including the haunting mystery that still baffles people, take a look below.
Bayview Bridge is located in Mulga, Alabama, just outside of Birmingham. It's considered one of the state's most haunted bridges. The old bridge (pictured) was eventually replaced. However, the current bridge is also believed to be haunted.
There are several haunting stories surrounding Bayview Bridge, which crosses Bayview Lake. It really depends on who you ask.
One of the stories is about an early 1940s bride who had second thoughts about getting married. After running away from the alter, a car ran her off the bridge and into the water below. There's also a version where the bride and groom crashed through the guardrail on their wedding night, and the bride is looking for her groom around the bridge.
Another story that's often told is a mother and her child was driving across the bridge in their car and it crashed into the lake. The mother survived the wreck, but her child didn't. Ever since the accident, she's been looking for her child.
There have been people from many miles away visit the small town of Mulga just to see Bayview Bridge. That's how popular this haunted bridge truly is. While many of these people reported seeing misty figures or hearing noises in the lake, several others didn't report seeing or hearing anything.
If you're up for a haunting adventure, consider taking a drive to Mulga and crossing the town's Bayview Bridge. The majority of people who reported having a paranormal experience drove across the bridge at night, so be sure to keep that in mind.
