7 Incredible Supermarkets In Delaware You’ve Probably Never Heard Of But Need To Visit
It seems like everywhere you look in Delaware, you see a big chain grocery store. Whatever happened to the small town mom and pop shops? Luckily, there are still a few in our state, if you know where to look! Do some of your shopping at this smaller, family-owned shops this holiday season and be proud to help out local Delawareans.

1. Janssen's Market, Greenville
Janssens in Wilmington is probably the nicest gourmet grocer in the state. You can choose from a huge variety of speciality cheese and meats, as well as pick up organic and local produce and other foods here. It's a little pricey, but you're guaranteed to find something here that you've never seen before.

Newark Natural Foods is a community-owned co-op on Main Street. You'll get to choose from a huge variety of healthy and organic food, and they stock rare finds like vegan, soy-free, and dairy free food.

Good Earth Market in Ocean View is located right on a working farm! You
your eggs are fresh when you meet the chickens as you walk in! There's also a cafe serving up delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This authentic farm market is always a family favorite.

4. Lloyd's Market, Lewes

Speaking of Hockessin, Delawareans should make a greater effort to shop at The Well this holiday season. As far as we know, The Well coffeshop and marketplace is the only spot in Delaware where your cup of coffee and pound of lunchmeat is going to a more noble cause than your caffeine habit and kids lunches. All of the profits made at The Well are donated to local charities, to help fund crisis counselors, teen recovery programs, international missions, and local food security charities.
