Using data based on the 2010 census (currently the only available data for this set of information thus far), the following census-designated areas of the state have the highest income per capita. Just like anywhere else, Delaware has its more affluent neighborhoods and less affluent neighborhoods. In 2020, the median income for residents of Delaware was $34,513 per year per capita. Some of the wealthiest people in the wealthiest neighborhoods, however, often have incomes much higher than that. The wealthiest rich neighborhoods in Delaware include Bethany Beach, where the average home cost is $848,800, Rehoboth Beach, where the average home cost is $758,900, Lewes, where the average home is $470,600, and Selbyville, where the average home is $402,500.

At the time of this writing, the wealthiest town in Delaware as indicated by per-capita income is Greenville, whose residents average an impressive $83,223 annually. More than 25,000 households in Delaware make more than one million dollars per year, and lots of those folks live in Greenville, though many others also call some of the places listed in the above paragraph home instead. When thinking of wealth and money, folks often think of places like California or New York, but Delaware is a big one, too!
