The Futuro House In Delaware Just Might Be The Strangest Roadside Attraction Yet
Have you ever felt like you’ve seen everything there is to see in the First State? Well, if you haven’t taken the time to learn about the Delaware Futuro House, you’re missing out on some fascinating history! Read the story of the oddest pre-fab house on the Delmarva Peninsula below, and keep an eye out the window next time you head down Route 1.
Many Delawareans have driven past the roadside spaceship on Route 1, just outside of Lewes. While it's sure to catch your eye, did you ever realize that this oddity was actually somebody's house?
Very few Futuro houses remain standing today, and while they're all unique, they were each designed to offer modern conveniences in a minimalist home. You could say they were the first of the "Tiny Home" trend!
The house is still occupied today, so if you're going to visit, make sure to not disturb the homeowner. This one-of-a-kind roadside oddity sure gets a lot of attention.
