I love breakfast and I love dessert, so it isn’t a surprise that I absolutely love donuts! I think most people are with me on that, too – it’s hard to find someone who doesn’t appreciate a fresh donut right from the oven or fryer, frosted or plain, served up with a good cup of coffee. There are great donut shops all over the state, so check out our Delaware Donut Trail and spend a day or two deciding which Delaware donut shop is your absolute favorite.
here for an interactive map of this delicious Donut trail!
It'll take you from Elsmere down to Selbyville, before ending in the great town of Milton.
1. Serpe & Sons Bakery, Elsmere
Serpe & Sons reopened after a fire destroyed much of the historic bakery in 2015, and they're right back to serving up some of the best donuts in the state. Start your donut trail trip off right at this landmark and grab yourself one of their famous cream donuts.
Serpe & Sons Bakery, 1411 Kirkwood Hwy, Elsmere, DE 19805
2. Duck Donuts, Newark
Duck Donuts is relatively new to Main St. The Donut Shop is originally from Duck, North Carolina, hence the name. They are popular with the college crowd and serve up fresh, hot sugary donuts every day. They're well known for their bacon donut, so be sure to try that!

3. Dutch Country Donuts, New Castle Farmer's Market
The Cider donuts here are my favorite, but the fresh chocolate frosted ones are amazing, too! This donut shop is in the New Castle Farmers Market and is one of my favorites in the state!

Not only does Gooey Donuts serve up amazing, hot, fresh and delicious donuts every single day, they also run so many community-centric programs it's hard to keep track.
