As any resident of the First State knows, we’ve got no shortage of small towns that are perfect weekend getaways. It seems like just about every small town in Delaware has attractions galore and a cute little boardwalk that’s just begging for you to take a weekend trip there. One such area is Bethany Beach in Sussex County. The town hovers around 1,000 residents throughout most of the year, but in the summer months, more than 15,000 tourists arrive from all over the country. Just one visit and you’ll see why it’s such a popular destination!

Bethany Beach lacks the bars and chaos that larger beaches can have, so it tends to attract more of a family-oriented crowd. It's a great spot to take kids on a warm day.
