The Ashland Nature Center is one of Delaware’s best hidden gems. There are trails, a hawk watch, events for kids and adults, and so much to explore! During the summer, the Ashland Nature Center Butterfly House creates a magical atmosphere for all to enjoy.
You can find the Nature Center at
3511 Barley Mill Road, Hockessin, DE. The entry fee is just $5 for adults, or $3 for children. Members of the Delaware Nature Society get to enjoy the grounds for free.

Butterflies can also be found through the entire property and on the miles of trails that wind through the Ashland Nature Center, so get out there and get exploring!
The trails are open from dawn to dusk year round, and the visitors center building is open from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm each day from April to November. They do close on some holidays, so if you're planning a visit, please double check with the Delaware Nature Society.
