Warm weather is on the way to Delaware! After a long winter, it’s about time we get some springtime sunshine. If you’re looking to kick off the season in the best way possible, visit the Ashland Nature Center’s butterfly forest in Delaware and enjoy a picturesque experience.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here:

You can find the Ashland Nature Center at 3511 Barley Mill Road, Hockessin, DE. It costs just $5 for adults to enter, and $3 for children. As always, Members of the Delaware Nature Society get to enjoy the grounds for free.

The trails around the Nature Center are open from dawn to dusk year round, and the center itself is open from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm each day from April to November. They do close on some holidays, so if you’re planning a visit, please double check with the Delaware Nature Society. Check out their website right here to learn more about the free programs that are offered throughout the summer months.
