We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Meadowlark Botanical Gardens is in Vienna, Virginia about 40 minutes away from DC. It's a gorgeous place every other day of the year.
Many of the displays are animated. Bees flit around a hive in the flower garden, a squirrel shakes his tail in a tree, and frogs jump in a light-filled stream.
If you want to warm up, head into the Snowflake Shoppe for some holiday shopping. Or grab a cup of hot cocoa or hot cider near the fire pit. You can also roast s'mores and enjoy light snacks!
Meadowlark's Winter Walk of Lights opens this weekend on November 10th and is open through January 7th. You can buy tickets at the door but since they sell out, you should purchase in advance.
