9 Washington DC Sandwiches You Have To Try Before You Die
Washington DC has some amazing sandwich shops. You can find a delicious and satisfying sandwich at many different places in the area. After sampling quite a few delicious shops, we started to wonder what were the best sandwiches in DC. We set out to find the 9 best sandwiches in Washington DC that you have to try before you die.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. 1. The G-Man at Mangialardo and Sons - 1317 Pennsylvania Ave SE
This has made
another one of our lists
and it’s because the G-Man really is that good. The signature sandwich from Mangialardo and Sons is a fully loaded Italian sandwich made with local ingredients.
2. Bolognese Parmesan at Bub and Pop’s - 1815 M St NW
The Bolognese Parmesan at Bub and Pop’s is a flavorful creation of delicious meatballs, rich tomato sauce, shredded meatballs with a little bit of arugula. it’s an Italian meat lovers dream!
3. Kingston at SUNdeVICH - 1314 9th St NW
SUNdeVICH has a whole array of delicious sandwiches on their menu but the Kingston is a stand out. It features jerk chicken, pineapple salsa, greens, spicy slaw and garlic mayo.
4. Chinatown at Beef N Bread - 750 6th St NW
Beef N Bread is located in Chinatown and so this aptly named sandwich is clearly one of their top sellers. Beef N Bread does mainly roast beef sandwiches and their Chinatown sandwich combines roast beef, avocado, sriacha and hoisin sauce for a delicious unique taste.
5. Classic Reuben at DGS Delicatessen - 1317 Connecticut Ave NW
DGS is a modern deli that stills delivers what the old school delis of the past offered. That means they have delicious, flavorful and filling sandwiches. It calls itself a “Next Generation Delicatessen” and the Reuben here won’t disappoint the biggest deli fans.
6. The Roasted Cauliflower Sandwich at G by Mike Isabella - 2201 14th St NW
A vegetarian favorite, that even meat-lovers will enjoy. The roasted cauliflower sandwich is topped with romanesco sauce, pickled veggies, arugula and shishito peppers. The sandwiches here are huge so you can save half for leftovers and it tastes just as good the next day.
7. Chivito at Fast Gourmet - 1400 W St NW
Fast Gourmet is one of the most undercover spots in the DC area. But if you do discover it and go inside, order the Chivito. Thick slices of beef tenderloin, ham, bacon, melted mozzarella, a hard boiled egg, lettuce, tomato and creamy mayo make it worth the price tag.
8. A.Litteri’s Classic Italian Sub - 517-519 Morse St NE
A hidden gem, A.Litteri is a classic Italian deli and their subs from their deli counter are topnotch. Their sandwiches have high quality meat with a soft roll and just the right amount of seasoning.
9. Porkstrami at Red Apron Butchery - 1309 5th St NE
Red Apron does an awesome pork-flavored list on the Pastrami sandwich. The sandwich has well seasoned meat, bacon sauerkraut and pork jus. It’s messy but delicious.
