While this is a tiny urban park, it has plenty of toys for children of all ages. This might be the place for you if you (or your kids) love climbing on slides and across monkey bars but it’s perfect area of scooters, toy cars and toddler toys.

Beauvoir Park is the park at Beauvoir the National Cathedral Elementary School. It is open to the public when school and camp are not in session and on the weekends. This unique playground has plenty of equipment to play on including a zipline, ropes course, treehouse, slides and swings.

Just across the bridge in Alexandria, VA, Chessie’s Big Backyard is a great themed playground. There are different areas for older and younger children with different jungle gyms, slides and a soft turf ground that is perfect for running and playing.

Also located across the bridge in Arlington, Rock Run has plenty of space and different areas for kids to play. There is a climbing structure with a rope climb for older kids and a small toddler area with a sandbox, swings and a jungle gym.

Clemyjontri is a spacious colorful park with tons of different activities. There’s a musical instrument area, rock-climbing walls, slides and a carousel that costs $3 for a ride.

This park is outside of DC but in the other direction, in Maryland. There’s more to do than the playground, including trails and a garden area but the playground is great for kids! There are sandpits, jungle gyms, swings and much more, that are sure to entertain everyone!
