If you’ve been in DC long enough, you probably have heard of Goodies. It’s a 1950s inspired soda bar serving Wisconsin style frozen custard.
Goodies began as a food truck. In fact, they still serve treats in their 60 year old Metro Van all over the district pays homage to a simpler time and it’s a delightful experience that will take you down memory lane while treating you with delicious custard.
Goodies also opened an old fashioned soda bar at 1400 Independence Avenue SW in the USDA office building. This cute shop is the perfect place to enjoy delicious custard in cool air conditioning!
But if you really want a treat, we recommend getting the donut custard sandwich. You can get a sweet, juicy donut in a variety of flavors stuffed with fantastic frozen custard.
The staff is friendly and the owners are often found behind the counter whipping up custard. From the decor to the food to the staff, Goodies goes above and beyond offering the full 1950s experience.
