Known as "America’s Spa," Berkeley Springs West Virginia is a historic spa and charming small town 90 minutes away from the DC area.
For centuries, the springs have attracted visitors to this charming town. It’s reported that George Washington first visited in 1748 and frequently stayed in Berkeley Springs through the 1760s.
The centerpiece is the warm mineral springs located right in the heart of town that flow at a warm temperature of 74.3 degrees. There are five different sources of springs, all within a hundred yards, flowing beautiful clear water.
There are two bath houses where you can enjoy the springs, including a historic Roman Bath House. Both have individual private baths for men and women.
If you would like to stay longer in Berkeley Springs, the beautiful town has plenty to offer visitors. The downtown area is full of unique shops and restaurants.
