The Water Lantern Festival has been making its way across the United States and soon will land in Connecticut. This incredible festival will take place Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Mill Pond Park in Newington.
The Water Lantern Festival starts at 4:00 when the gates open for unlimited access to food trucks, music, and fun. Then at 7:00 it will be time to make your lantern.
Once you light your lantern, it will send off a soft glow illuminating your words, pictures, or designs. The lanterns are composed of rice paper and wood and are completely eco-friendly.
At 7:30 the launching begins. Hundreds of glowing lanterns will be sent out onto the water creating a captivating light show. Gather with friends, family, and complete strangers to celebrate life at this unique water lantern festival.
