This long time favorite is about as iconic as a Connecticut pizzeria can get. They keep it simple and delicious, which makes them one of the all time greats when it comes to New Haven's thin crust apizza style. Blackened, coal-fired crust with no frills makes this the perfect pit stop on an evening out.
2. Vocatura's Bakery

This low-key hidden gem not only serves up great pizza with extra cheese, but you can also snag a cannoli for dessert. A thicker, chewier crust, this place offers up authentic Italian eats that your tastebuds won't believe.
3. Vito's Pizzeria

Come get a little piece of Italy at this small shop. It serves up several styles of pizza, so everyone is happy here. Thin or thick, the chefs here are generous with the toppings and always happy to see you. It's a local dive you just have to try.
4. The Original Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Named the Best Pizza In America, this place believes tradition is king and are big fans of the brick oven pizza. They also serve up local favorite Foxon Park, so a soda and a slice is the best way to go here. With the exposed prep area you can watch the magic as it happens.
5. Modern Apizza

Locals can't stop raving about this place! They're pretty good with meat but the veggie options are so good you can't resist. Any Nutmegger will tell you that you can't talk about our famous apizza without talking about Modern, which is why it just had to be on the pizza bucket list. Thin, crispy, cheesy and loaded with flavor.
6. Roseland Apizza

This place is a little hidden, but it's definitely worth discovering. Especially for thin and crispy crust lovers. The pizzas are smothered in cheese here, and the crowd doesn't get too big. A well kept secret, their old-style pizza demands to be tasted.
7. Zois Pizza
48 Main Street, Seymour, CT 06483
Known for its specialty Greek pizzas, this local dive has offered laid back booth dining for over 40 years. Always made with fresh ingredients, this family owned restaurant likes keeping it local. Even the wine list favors Connecticut vineyards.
8. Colony Grill
172 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902
There are a couple of locations in the state, and all of them are great. They offer some creative options too, like breakfast pizza and salad pizza. This cool hangout is a favorite amongst college students and keeps the menu simple by making it all about the pizza. They skip the appetizers and extended menu to focus on what they do best.

Neapolitan & Sicilian style pizza options make this laid-back locale an absolute must visit. Almost every table is a booth, and with its warm rustic decor this place is all about enjoying your friends over a large pizza. It's a great option for groups and families who want just want to hang out.

Known for being rebels, you'll find plenty of unique specialty pizzas at this hip bar hangout. Wood-fired pizzas are paired with craft beers here, and a number of modern Italian plates are offered. Folks who love trying new flavor combinations will find themselves in heaven when they see this menu.
