Kids are wonderful, but they can also be a bit of a handful. It seems like every time you’re getting ready to settle down for a relaxing day of doing nothing, they get a sudden burst of energy and want to wreak havoc on everything around them. There are plenty of great family attractions in Connecticut, but if you’re looking for somewhere where a kid can be a kid and interact with others in their own age group, it doesn’t get much better than a good old-fashioned playground. You can find playgrounds at many parks throughout the state, but one of our favorites is Josh’s Jungle All-Abilities Playground in Hamden.

If you're not familiar with all-abilities playgrounds, the general concept is that it's a playground where all kids can play together. Kids of different ages and ability levels will find something to entertain themselves.

There's equipment that can be used by everyone here, even kids with special needs. Kids who use wheelchairs or have autism can play side-by-side with others instead of being separated into a "special" area.
