Looking for a great trail to check out in Connecticut isn’t hard: there are so many hiking opportunities in the Nutmeg State that it’s almost overwhelming! We are blessed to have so many state parks and state forests that are perfect for exploration, and the number of hiking trails in Connecticut is pretty mind-blowing for such a small state. One trail that recently gained national recognition is the amazing New England Scenic Trail. This epic trail spans 235 miles through multiple states, from the Long Island Sound all the way to Massachusetts. In late 2023, the National Park Service announced that the New England Scenic Trail would now be designated as a national park. Check out this amazing multi-state adventure by kicking off a hike on the New England Trail in Connecticut:

While most of us probably aren't up for hiking 235 miles all in one go, the great thing about lengthy trails like this is that you can always just enjoy a hike on a small portion of the trail.
