With Memorial Day right around the corner, you’re probably making a list and checking it twice of all the places we want to visit once summer is in full force. While Connecticut has plenty of sandy shoreline along the Long Island Sound, you don’t always have to head to the coast for a fantastic beach day. Martin Park Beach is a spring-fed freshwater swimming spot with refreshing water and a sandy beach perfect for swimming, splashing, and lounging.
Grab the sunscreen, swimsuits, and towels, Martin Beach Park in Ridgefield is calling! The refreshing five-acre Great Pond is mostly bordered by forest but this park has four beach areas to claim a spot.
When hunger strikes, step up to the Only The Hungry Food Truck for plenty of family-friendly fare. The tasty food truck will be on site Thursday - Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and starting June 26, Wednesday - Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Memberships and daily admission are available to Ridgefield residents and non-residents. Learn more by visiting the Ridgefield Park and Recreation website. Address: 19 Great Pond Road,
Ridgefield, CT 06877.
