Not Many People Realize This Incredible Temple Is Hiding In Connecticut
Did you know that tucked in to the Litchfield Hills, in the small town of Morris, is a beautiful Laotian temple? It’s true! The Lao Buddha Ariyamett Aram Temple remains shrouded in mystery, with little known about how it came to be or whose idea it was, but it’s open to the public to explore. Most of the worshippers here only speak Laotian and it’s rumored that one lone monk is responsible for the grounds. Sounds cool, right?
For over a decade, the Lao Buddha Ariyamett Aram Temple has delighted and bemused passersby. It's full of bright, beautiful architecture and the grounds are well manicured.
Incredible hand carved statues are placed on small paved areas and are surrounded by open space and foliage. It's the perfect place for a quiet walk and reflection.
There is one main temple, but additional places for outdoor worship are scattered around the property as well. You don't have to be familiar with Buddhism to appreciate this beautiful locale.
