- Mattatuck Trail: This 7.4-mile section of this trail is located in Peterson Park in Wolcott. You’ll head along the beautiful Mad River and out to the 55-foot Buttermilk Falls.
- Barn Island Loop: You’ll find this 2.9-mile loop trail at the 1,000-acre Barn Island Wildlife Management Area in Pawcatuck. It features marshlands and coastal waterways and is a great spot for some birdwatching.
