Join in on the limited time excursion as the Eagle Flyer takes flight February 16-18th and February 23-24th, 2019. This 2.5-hour round trip vintage train ride brought to you by the Essex Steam Train explores the winter landscape in search of wildlife.
During the winter, the landscape is unobstructed by foliage. Take in the scenery of the Connecticut River and neighboring forests for a chance to spot eagles in the wild.
Climb aboard the cozy and heated vintage rail cars. Master Wildlife Conservationists from CT’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) will be on board to share their knowledge and help you spot wildlife along your journey.
Purchase sandwiches, soup, snacks, and beverages right on board the train if your tummy starts to rumble. Adults can even enjoy a relaxing glass of wine on the train.
Choose to take a break with an optional 1/2 hour shopping excursion at Goodspeed Station Country Store or extend your ride on the newly opened track in Haddam.
Tickets for the Eagle Flyer cost $40 for first class with children under two riding for free. For coach seating, adult tickets are $25, children cost $15, and children under two are free. This limited excursion sells out fast, so make your plans to ride the Eagle Flyer today.
For more information including departure times for each town, visit the Essex Steam Train website.
