Of all whales, Belugas are the most easily recognizable and often considered the most adorable. At Connecticut’s Mystic Aquarium you can meet some up close and in person! The Beluga Whale Encounter is the perfect adventure for animal lovers.
If you love animals, especially those that have an affinity for water, Mystic Aquarium is the place to be! With both indoor and outdoor exhibits, the aquarium is home to a huge variety of captivating marine animals.

Mystic Aquarium has a variety of animal interactions available, but the Beluga Whale Encounter is a rare opportunity to meet these fantastically cute mammals.
Participants must be at least five feet tall and be able to stand unassisted during the program. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult.
The Belugas are one of the more popular residents at Mystic and often are seen posing for photos. These whales are extremely social creatures and an encounter with them is a time you won't forget.
During the Beluga Whale Encounter, you'll spend 20 minutes in the classroom getting an introduction to the species and preparation to meet them.
Then you'll pull on some waist high waders and venture into the Arctic Coast exhibit to meet a Beluga.
Spend another 20 minutes in the water where you'll enjoy trying to direct their behavior and feeling the whale's melon.
Conclude your adventure by taking a posed photo with your new Beluga friend!
