Connecticut is a small state, but it is not lacking in things to do. While some activities might be a bit pricey, there are still some affordable options that won’t break the bank. Even if you are on a budget, you don’t have to stay home. So get out there and have some fun! Here are ten awesome things you can do for ten bucks or less.
1. Go on a scavenger hunt at the PEZ Visitor Center in Orange.
Walk through the history of how the PEZ dispenser and candy phenomena began. View a huge collection of vintage and newer PEZ dispensers while going on a scavenger hunt to find certain items. Admisson is $5 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-12 and free for children under age 3. In additon, with your paid admission, you will receive a $2 voucher to spend in the gift shop
2. Follow the dinosaur tracks in Rocky Hill.
Dinosaur State Park shows you the discovery of dinosaurs in Connecticut, their fossils, migration patterns and more. This educational and entertaining attraction costs just $6 for adults and $2 for youth ages 6-12, children 5 and under are free.
3. Bumper boats and batting cages - two kinds of fun in Berlin!
Berlin Batting Cages offers several different entertainment options for under $10. Bumper boats are $5 per boat, go karts are $5.50, miniature golf is $5.75 and batting cages are 12 pitches for just 99 cents.
4. Can you make it to the top? Climb to new heights in Wallingford.
Mountain Fun is an indoor rock climbing facility that is perfect for kids or climbers that are just starting out. It has a variety of walls with varying difficulites. Make sure you go on Mondays when you can climb for $10 per hour.
5. Meet some new friends at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center.
At the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, there are so many things to do. You can explore the exhibits, meet some new live animals, climb and slide at the playground or take an outdoor hike. Admission for adults is $10, children ages 4-7 is $5 and children 3 and under are free.
6. Check out the big screen and take in a drive-in movie in Mansfield.
Watch a flick the old fashioned way - at a drive in theatre. The Mansfield Drive-In is a unique movie-going experience. Be sure to buy your tickets online to get the best rates of $9.99 for adults and $6.99 for children and seniors.
7. Go for a ride on a trolley in East Windsor.

8. Explore the worlds of art and science in Greenwich.
Highlighting art, science and natural history, the Bruce Museum is a world of its own. Changing exhibits keep it interesting and the reasonable price keeps it accessible to the public. Admission for adults is $10 and for students ages 5-22 it's $8, children 4 and under are free.
9. Jump around in Hartford!
At Launch Trampoline Park you can jump for 1/2 hour for $8. It may not seem like much, but after playing on a huge assortment of trampolines, you will likely be tired out after just 30 minutes.
10. Pet and feed a variety of animals in Simsbury.
There are many friendly animals at the Flamig Farm. Llamas, goats, sheep, pigs, horses and more are available to view. Admission is $6 per person, adults over 80 and children under 2 are not charged.
