The Underappreciated Museum That Shows You A Side Of Colorado You’ve Never Seen Before
One of our favorite things about Colorado is the fact that there is a museum or exhibit for anything you could possibly be interested in. Whether its nature, science, history, or just play, you can find an accompanying institution at nearly any corner of the state. When it comes to Colorado history, however, we cannot help but gush about this under-appreciated museum that you’ve never seen before and need to visit:
Located in the small, Eastern Plains town of Limon is that of the surprising Limon Heritage Museum!
Founded in 1990, the Limon Heritage Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Eastern Colorado, which they do via a multi-acre complex, knowledgable docents, and beautifully curated exhibits.
In addition to all of the above, the Limon Heritage Museum also hosts an annual Heritage Day complete with food, entertainment, demonstrations, and so much more.
The Limon Heritage Museum is located at 701 1st St. in Limon and is open Monday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.
