If You Visit Only One Colorado Hidden Gem This Summer, Make It Las Colonias Park
Summer 2020 has been a strange one for Coloradans, as much of the state is still on total lockdown due to health and safety concerns. While travel and exploration are currently on hold for most people, there are still a few places where folks can safely social distance and enjoy Colorado at its finest, like the hidden gem Las Colonias Park:
Located in Grand Junction, Las Colonias Park is a 130-acre oasis that sits across the street from beautiful downtown and offers Western Slopers a quick and easy escape.
Sitting along the banks of the Colorado River, there is something for everyone to see and do at the Las Colonias Park, beginning with such outdoor recreational opportunities as kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, sunning, and wading.
Do you unwind by walking, running, or hiking? There is a spot or two for you at Las Colonias, too, thanks to their scenic, designated trails!
One of the more unique aspects of Las Colonias is the on-site, state-of-the-art amphitheater, which hosts numerous year-round concerts and special events.
As if you needed another reason to visit and love the Las Colonias Park, the area is also home to unique festivals and other various events that you don't want to miss.
Please note: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, previously-scheduled summer 2020 events may be delayed or postponed.
In addition to all of the above, Las Colonias also houses a playground and a Native Arboretum that the entire family is sure to love.
