Few People Know One Of The Nicest Restaurants In America Is Hiding In Small-Town Colorado
When you think of small-town eateries, what comes to mind? A down-home, no-frills cafe with made-from-scratch cooking? Me, too! At least, this used to be my answer before discovering that one of the nicest restaurants in Colorado is hiding in the small town of Cortez.
Welcome to Cortez (population: 9,000 <) and its excellent Farm Bistro!
Billed as "comfort food with style," the Farm Bistro is a genuine diamond in the rough, beginning with its warm ambiance, a la sandstone walls, warm lighting, and unique art.
While the ambiance is reason enough to visit, the food may steal the show, as the menu features all of your favorites with a twist (think grass-fed beef burgers, yak burgers, and pita sandwiches).
When it comes to a made-from-scratch dinner, nothing beats Farm Bistro, as it boasts everything from Relleno Pie to Pan-Seared Sirloin to Moroccan-Style Lamb Meatballs, Berto Farm Italian Sausage Pasta, and a Green Chile Stew.
If it's date night, friend's night out, or you just want to treat yourself to a nice outing, be sure to visit their lounge area for stellar small plates and drinks.
