Nestled away in Grand Junction, the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens is a 15-acre attraction on a mission to "promote the responsible conservation of precious natural resources" by "providing educational and recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages, while offering an aesthetic setting for cultural and community events."
Opened in 1994, the Gardens was a passion project for many volunteers who helped clear debris for its construction, leading to the gorgeous outdoor space you see today!
Depending on when you visit, you may also see some of the Gardens' butterflies, many of which make and emerge from their chrysalis inside the on-site puparium.
