Are you one of those unlucky folks who has to move away from Colorado due to personal, financial, or work reasons? Or maybe you are just moving here and are trying to figure out what we are all about? Either way, there are several mundane objects that both define and will make you think of Colorado, including:
In case you haven't been out on the road in the last 30-some years, bikes are a big thing here in Colorado! From saving the environment to getting us in tip-top shape, we rely on this two-wheeled means of transportation on a near-daily basis.
2. Can of Coors.
Ah, Coors... while we usually opt for craft brews over domestic, we still have a special place in our hearts for the "world's most refreshing beer," as it is brewed right in our own backyard (AKA Golden). *tear runs softly down cheek*
3. A receipt from any Kroger-owned store.
Believe it or not, not every state has a King Soopers... where do they even shop for groceries, right?! Thankfully, King Soopers (and City Market, depending on which part of Colorado you're in) is owned by Kroger, which is the second-largest general retailer in America and owns other chains like Kroger (duh), Dillons, Food 4 Less, Fry's, Smith's, and Fred Meyers.
C'mon... you knew we couldn't write this list without mentioning the most obvious item of all! (Note: Marijuana is not legal in all 50 states, so if you ever do leave Colorado, you may be stuck having to get your weed in some parking lot behind a movie theatre.)
5. Chipotle burrito.
Thankfully, Chipotle is available in almost all 50 states and several different countries, which is fortunate, as we cannot help but think of Colorado when we see this fragrant wad of aluminum foil.
6. Bottle of honey.
Why does honey remind us of Colorado? Well, it's obviously because you dip your pillowy Beau Jo's crust in honey (and not ranch, Tabasco, milk, or something else ridiculous)!
7. Breakfast foods.
Colorado is the king (or queen, depending on how you like to look at it) of brunch, so the sight of omelettes, pancakes, and French toast will always make us dream of the Centennial State! (Sadly though, not all brunch spots are created equal, so don't walk into an out-of-state breakfast spot and expect Snooze-quality chocolate chip pancakes.)
Coloradans do not wander the earth wondering who our best friends are, as we already know it is our beloved 4-legged companion(s).
No, not that kind of rack... I'm talking about the racks atop our Subarus that transport our boards, bikes, and other sporting equipment safely up the mountain!
I mean, we just briefly mentioned it but thought that the Subaru needed its own picture and bullet point (as the last picture showed a Rubicon, which is okay but, meh). Not only are these cars super safe and fuel efficient, but they are crazy comfortable as well.
If you are driving down a road that does not have potholes the size of a van, are you really driving down a Colorado road?!
