Drink Your Way Through Colorado On The Margarita Mile
The Western Slope is known as Colorado’s wine country, but did you know that this region also whips up some mean margaritas? When the weather is warm, there is nothing quite as relaxing and refreshing as sipping a tasty marg on a shaded patio, which is why we want to treat you to an incredible afternoon along this Durango Margarita Mile! Grab some comfortable walking shoes and/or a designated driver – let’s go!
You can find a link to the interactive map
1. San Marcos Mexican Restaurant
There is no better place to begin our mile than at San Marcos Mexican Restaurant, which features great food and drinks in the heart of downtown Durango. Not sure when to go? We recommend hitting Happy Hour, which takes place every day from 2 to 5 p.m. and features $7 house margaritas (and $2.75 draft beers, if that's more your style). Olé!
Address: 21382 Highway 160 West, Durango, CO 81301
2. Tequila's Family Mexican Restaurant
When you have the word "tequila" in your name, you know you're in for a great marg (or 3), especially if you’re at Tequila's Family Mexican Restaurant! Serving the community since 1999, Tequila's will make you think you left the Centennial State for a cabana in Acapulco thanks to its strong drinks and the tropical ambiance.
Address: 948 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301
3. Los Amigos Del Sur Mexican Restaurant
Do you want a margarita that is as beautiful as it is delicious? You have come to the right place! While the Mezcalita Margarita with fresh watermelon (pictured above) may seem too pretty to drink, we highly suggest you work past these feelings and get to sipping, as it truly tastes as good as it looks!
Address: 835 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301
4. Nini's Taqueria
Are you getting a little munchie from all of this delicious fruit-infused tequila? Good, because Nini's is not only famous for their frozen margaritas (try the mango!), but also their homemade chips and salsa.
Address: 552 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301
5. Gazpacho Restaurant
Sadly, our margarita mile (which has exceeded a mile and - hopefully - your expectations) is coming to an end, but not before a final drink at Gazpacho! Rated as one of the top Mexican restaurants in Durango, Gazpacho has a huge variety of margaritas ranging from their "No BS Patron" to the "El Bandido" with Herradura Double Barrel Reposado and fresh lime.
Address: 431 East 2nd Avenue, Durango, CO 81301
