Located in Golden, the Lookout Mountain Nature Center is an outdoor education center that "promotes conservation of Jefferson County's open spaces through educational programs and exhibits."

Originally owned by the Charles Boettcher family and used as a summer getaway, the original buildings and 110 acres of land were later donated to Jefferson County, in-turn creating the beautiful and hands-on Lookout Mountain Nature Center and Preserve.

When you visit the nature center, make plans to stop and stay awhile, for the preserve features a state-of-the-art play room and observation center...
