The Rock Rest Lodge In Colorado Is About As Kitschy And Fun As It Comes
Colorado is a “weird” state, so it should come as no surprise that nearly every community has its own wacky and one-of-a-kind attractions. If you are looking for all of the above in a restaurant, however, there is only one place to go, which is the kitschy and fun Rock Rest Lodge:
Located in Golden, the Rock Rest Lodge is a can't-miss bar and grill that is home to an upbeat ambiance, cold drinks, tasty bites, and... a rhino?
"From the deepest part of the Congo to the picturesque mountain town of golden Colorado, it’s been a long strange trip for Murray the rhino," explains Rock Rest when referring to its mascot, which goes on to tell of how the rhino became a pet to William Randolph Hearst before becoming the guardian of the Lodge.
In addition to the iconic Murray, the Rock Rest Lodge - which was established in 1907 - features even more quirky decor, plus games, special events, and a plethora of famous patrons.
