With a mission to “restore, protect, and publicize the natural mineral springs and to document their historic origins,” the Mineral Springs Foundation has managed to both maintain this precious source as well as make it easily accessible via 8 locations around town.
Dating back to well before the formation of the town, the healing mineral waters found in and around Manitou Springs have long been used by early Native Americans, miners, and tourists, thanks to the water's high amounts of alkalinity, calcium, chloride, and other minerals.
