Throughout the course of its history, the Abbey was also home to the Abbey Boy's School, the Holy Cross College and Seminary for young men, and finally, Camp Holy Cross for boys 8 to 14.
By 1972, enrollment in the monastic program was near capacity, with students visiting from all over the world. Yet by 2005, the program had closed and the 200-acre property sold to a private developer.
