Dine At The Historic Spot In Colorado Where Doc Holliday Would Gamble
Colorado has quite the reputation for its Wild West past, and lucky for us, there are still plenty of remnants from this historical time, including saloons and restaurants. One of these places is so iconic the notorious Doc Holliday (among others) used to frequent it, and you can still visit it for yourself:
Welcome to the Silver Dollar Saloon, a c. 1879 watering hole that will transport you back to a different time.
Located in Leadville, the Silver Dollar Saloon still boasts its historic ambiance and decor; however, its patrons are a little less colorful than before, thanks to former regulars like Doc Holliday.
Known for his role in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, Doc Holliday was a dentist by day and a gunslinger by night whose greatest vice was gambling, which he spent many nights doing at the Silver Dollar Saloon.
While things have since calmed down at the Silver Dollar Saloon, it is still a great place to visit, thanks to, in part, its tasty menu of sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and entrees.
