One Of The Worst Disasters In U.S. History Happened Right Here In Colorado

Aside from World War II, one of the most harrowing of stories I was ever told by my grandparents was about the Dirty Thirties, when the country’s economics were in a state of collapse and dust blanketed the plains. When you hear stories of the Dust Bowl, states like Kansas and Oklahoma may first come to mind, but the truth of the matter is that Colorado’s Eastern Plains were hit just as much as all the others.
