There are so many natural water sources near Denver, that you may forget about these wonderful waterparks in the city that are just perfect for some family fun in the summer sun. These parks have thrill rides, meandering floats, bumper boats, and boats rentals, not to mention picnic areas, playgrounds, and more. Check out these 8 waterparks in Denver that are sure to help you and your family stay cool this summer.
1. Elitch Gardens and Theme Park
The water park at Elitch Gardens in downtown Denver is probably the most well-known water park in the city. With entry to the theme park, you get free admittance to the water park, which has seven thrill rides, including a 62-foot speed slide called Sun Plunge, as well as slightly more tame family enjoyment like the 75-foot long meandering raft ride. Two parks for the price of one and unlimited rides for the whole family!
2. Wheel Fun Rentals at City Park
It's not exactly a water park, but it is a 330-acre park with a spacious lake doling out boat rentals. There are plenty of options to choose from: single and double pedal boats, single and double kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Choose your ride and go for a glide!
3. The Fountain at City Park
After your boat cruise you can cool off in the fountain on the West side of the Denver Nature and Science Museum and have a picnic with a panoramic view of the city and surrounding mountains. Pure bliss, indeed!
4. Lakeside Amusement Park
Lakeside Amusement Park has been entertaining Denverites since 1908 and has a priceless old-school charm. Take advantage of all of their fabulous rides and be sure not to miss the Bumper Boats!
5. Wheel Fun Rentals at Wash Park
For a unique view of Wash Park and little extra family fun, check out their rentals which include single and double pedal boats, single and double kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. Afterwards enjoy the 165 acres of playgrounds, gardens, paths, trails, and sport courts. Just do it!
